Steinman, Eliezer

Steinman, Eliezer
(1892-1970)
   Israeli writer. He was born in Obodovka, in the Ukraine, and became a part-time Hebrew teacher in Odessa. In 1920 he left Russia, and settled in Warsaw, where he wrote stories, essays, articles and a novel; he also published collections of Yiddish essays and stories about the pogroms against Ukrainian Jews. In 1924 he settled in Tel Aviv, where he wrote for Ha-Aretz and Ha-Olam and published stories and novels. He later became a columnist for Davar.
